Who We Are
Stevie Ronnie
“I am an interdisciplinary artist and writer who makes work about language in all of its multi-sensory forms. For over fifteen years I have mentored both writers and artists, specialising in working with creatives whose practice crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries. I help artists to develop through 1-1 mentoring, support to write funding bids and the delivery of bespoke development workshops.
Since 2008, I have run a successful freelance practice, earning a living through projects, residencies, commissions, publications, exhibitions, performances and collaborations. I am a core team member for The Writing Squad mentoring programme, have delivered creative workshops in both writing and the visual arts for over thirty arts organisations, and have taught interdisciplinary courses for universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.”

Susannah Ronnie
“As an interdisciplinary writer and artist, I explore history and memory through playwriting, poetry, book art, textile and stitch. I have a Creative Writing PhD from Northumbria University, where I also worked as an associate lecturer with undergraduate and postgraduate students. In partnership with communities and arts organisations, I have gained over ten years’ experience of running creative writing and art workshops, supporting individuals in developing their craft. In 2022, I founded an ongoing peer support group for older women playwrights in the north-east.
Alongside my creative practice, I have worked as a freelance copywriter, editor and proofreader on poetry collections, novels, websites, newsletters and academic publications. As well as supporting artists and writers of all ages by enabling them to develop their craft in workshop settings, I can also provide tailored project support.”

“Susannah is one of the most efficient and organised people I know and has been such a reliable and creative admin person and project support for me. It is also wonderful to have a fellow writer working with me who is able to truly understand my needs and the world I’m working in.”

“I was the recipient of a DYCP grant in 2022 thanks to the support Stevie offered over the course of my application. His insights were valuable, his guidance generous, and his feedback always positive and constructive. His help demystified the application process; this not only helped me to secure the DYCP funding itself but also to feel more confident when tackling future ACE applications.”
